Thursday Morning Endurance Training PDF Print E-mail
Written by TRC
Monday, 22 January 2007

TRC conducts what is probably the most unique training ride anywhere. We combine both road and mountain bike into the one session. Admittedly we do not stay together all the way, however, for the first 30min it's a good time to catch up with those of the opposite persuasion. This ride has been going unofficially for a couple of years now with some of the crew switching each week between road and mountain bike.

No matter which choice you make this ride would be classed as brisk in pace with plenty of vertical meters to challenge all, with intensity above what would typically be classified as endurance riding. Whether you choose road or mountain bike be prepared for 2hrs of effort.

If you wish to join this ride please feel free to do so;

Place: Corner of Moggill Rd and Chapel Hill Rd Chapel Hill (at the lights)
Date: Every Thursday morning
Time: 05:40am for a roll off at 05:45

Both road and mountain bike rides finish at Park Rd, Milton with easy access to the start point from both rides before this.

Guests are more than welcome. If you do intend to ride with this group on a regular basis we will be asking for you to join the club.

While most of us a riding to keep the Christmas cheer from making too much of a dint to the waist line, TRC members Kevin Jones and Cailin Carrier have been hunting races around Australia.

Kevin Jones has been following the National Cross Country Series with wins in the first two events in Sydney and Hobart and a second place last weekend in Thredbo. This leaves Kevin well ahead in the Super Masters series point score. Good luck to Kevin as he works towards the National Championships over the Australia Day long weekend in Canberra.

Cailin, at only 16, is a long time member of TRC, regular Tuesday morning rider and another one of our National Cross Country title holders. Cailin spent last weekend in camp at Thredbo with Damian Grundy, the Australian Cross Country Coach. At the end of the camp she also competed in the Thredbo National Series event and picked up a second place in the U17 Womens event.

Well done to both these TRC members.
